Note for Japan residents: I got the info pack for my health check the other day and there was a paper offering a COVID shot for 19,800 yen for anyone outside of the government coverage zone (aka almost everyone). So I guess expecting to pay at least 20,000 yen for a shot if you want one might not be a bad idea even if some places may offer it for less (much like the flu shot).

@mario I was rather neutral about Purple Skirt and Convenience Store Woman upset me, so I'm not actually sure 😂

@Dana I offer tacos as potentially worse alternative in an attempt to comfort. I couldn't even be in the same room as them for *years*.

@mario I've been sick since 12/30 and been in the hospital since 1/2! It's been quite a start to the year lol

I'm unfortunately spending another weekend at the hospital because still no improvement since Monday and I also developed a full body rash yesterday. At least it isn't an itchy rash. I'm just very blotchy.

The real tragedy is that the old lady in my room was discharged and replaced with someone who definitely has sleep apnea though. I can hear their laboured breathing and breathing restart snorts from the hallway...😭

@mario @Inhae I have a few longer ones on my bookshelf! I got through Tomb of Sand through some sort of miracle last month, but my signed copy of The End of August sits sadly on my desk chair lol

Longer books are definitely easier digitally because all that weight and those pages aren't staring you down.

@Inhae I have so many Japanese books like this on my shelf! Mostly fantasy novels that I don't dare actually read though lol

@Inhae I've grown really fond of shorter books and short story collections for this reason! A shorter commitment is so much more achievable!
