I don't think people properly appreciate how broken the concept of #Recall is, even if you could make it "secure".

We are living in a time where authoritarians are gaining control of various governments (national if not regional).

Recall will be detailed log of your politics, sexuality, medical issues, ethnicity, religious views, eating habits, travel and social interaction.

The police will love this. The secret police will love this even more.

This never gets old.

I don't agree, fully.

"housekeeping" refers to cleaning up (e.g. deleting temp file cruft) as well as improving and redesigning (e.g. updating the code as systems upgrade and evolve).

"tech debt" refers to temporary or poor quality work that needs to be fixed in the future. It's akin to replacing a cracked panel held together with duct tape.

But confused business logic grows organically, and feels like tech debt instead of housekeeping.

And yet not everyone buys into the hate and fear.

Most people don't, despite being exposed to so much of it.

Notice that Scotland, Wales and various English cities aren't run by fascists, despite the media.

It's the broken electoral system in the UK, combined with the fact that just enough people voted for this, or didn't vote at all.

Blaming the media will not fix this mess.

You can't the media for all of this.

And you can't blame Facebook or Twitter for the rest of it.

Most of the responsibility falls on voters who voted for the Tories and voted for Brexit.
