Just for the record I know what an absolute twat Roald Dahl was. Also why am I happily sharing a Roald Dahl thing when seeing someone posting about a JK Rowling thing would make me feel uncomfortable? I think I have stuff to unpack there as they say.
Most YouTube tutorials for anything technical if you're blind: To set this up, place these here, there, and over there. Set that to this, press that, then turn this knob but only if you have stepped on that first. Type the code shown on screen and hit that hard, and you're done. It's that simple.
Christine Anderson uploaded a ton of her own music to SoundCloud as TransSonix. She was hugely inspired by her favourite band Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark as well as Jean-Michel Jarre, who she idolised. I'm not posting a favourite track as it's too painful for me to listen to her music right now. but if 80s style electronic music is your thing, there's plenty here. https://soundcloud.com/transsonix
I'm not feeling so good right now. I found out earlier that my friend Christine Anderson (TheBinaryGirl) on Twitter) passed away in her sleep last night (25th or 26th November 2023). :( She was a wonderful friend and a fantastic musician. Always chearful, up for a laugh and a huge Doctor Who fan. I miss you Christine.
From Firefox 120's release notes: Firefox supports a new “Copy Link Without Site Tracking” feature in the context menu which ensures that copied links no longer contain tracking information. Nice.

When I was a girl I loved the song in this ad for golden syrup. I couldn't remember exactly how it went other than it had a woman singing it and a guy yelling stuff like "Spoon!" But after a bit of googling I finally managed to find it. Turns out it was for Lyle's Golden syrup. Altogether now, "Stick it on your Spoon, stick it from the tin, stick it on your pancakes, stick it thick or thin." It ends with "stick it on your shopping list", and I'm pretty sure that back then I wondered why would you want to do that as the paper would get all sticky. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28gtBz5ADmI
something I took away from that podcast is the reason why Joni Mitchell plays guitar using alternate tunings. It's because she has a weak left hand as a result of having polio when she was a child. I tried having guitar lessons, but gave up because I can't deal with the standard tuning because of my dodgy left hand from having cerebral palsy. So maybe I should play around with alternate tunings more. I like dadgad for a start.
