@Caoimhe The absolute worst thing like this for me was Rupert Degas reading Never say Die, one of the Alex Rider books. Every time a character ate something, I think he did and talked with his mouth full. God it was horrible.
Wikipedia mentions that it's Global Accessibility Awareness Day on the English version's main page, but to create an account on there and many of the Wikimedia Foundation's other projects you have to complete an inaccessible captcha. They offer an option for someone to create an account for you if you can't fill it in, but that's not good enough. There's been a ticket open about this since 2006 according to the date stamp and nothing's been done. https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T6845 #GAAD#Wikipedia#Wikimedia
A thing that's puzzled me for ages is why satellite tv requires a fairly large dish on the side of your house when your phone's satellite connection doesn't need anything like that.
@esther@olivvybee I reckon this also explains why the iPhone 14's direct satalite connection for the SOS function is such a pain in the arse. I've tried the demo and you have to point it in a specific direction to lock on. I guess if it had a dish connected it wouldn't need all that faffing around
I bloody hate Windows 10's "Before you continue..." boxes. And the "Sorry to see you go!" when you click skip, and obviously it's a skip for now button.
I lost it a bit on Facebook yesterday and ranted that one of the reasons they hardly hear from me is the majority of what they post is "maybe an image of one person and text". I went on to say that I'd be forever asking them what that even means and I can't be bothered. So contrast that to here where the majority of images are described. It really makes me feel like I'm welcome here.
I've only just learnt that Butterkist as in the popcorn brand is spelt like that, not butterkissed or butter kissed. This is one of the reasons why these days I won't boost these posts about blind people with crap spelling. My spelling is pretty horrendous, not to mention my grammar and the rest of it. My dad's spelling is even worse and he's sighted.
Mic The snare: "Media outlets seem to find value in bringing him on for" and the sentence is finished with a machine running or something. I don't speak sound effects language. Anyone know what loud machine noise means? Link to the video below with appropriate timestamp. https://youtu.be/VxoYKAgRBVc?si=glVzlxdoG6DV99Gs
Seeing as it's both trans day of visibility and Easter... While they were all busy yelling "Yea for Christ has risen" and other such nonsense, she changed into something more comfortable, crept quietly out of the cave, slipped into the shadows and lived a long and happy life.
Arm day in the torture chamber I mean gym. I said to my wife this machine seems easy and she increased the weight. When will I learn not to say the quiet parts out loud?
My cousin is a photographer but I sometimes wish she'd post about her holidays using words. How was it in her may be an image of an all terrain vehicle. Not got a clue but it's probably a pretty photo.
