Got a weird tech question, and I'm not sure which forum to post it to, so I'll put it out into the fediverse ether!

I use #lineageOS on a #Fairphone3 and most of my apps are installed via f-droid. But some are installed via #AuroraStore, when there isn't an fdroid version.

I'm not signed into Google play on this phone.

Most apps just work, but there are 3 which do a weird thing, and are unusable as a result - when they start they just spin out to a Google Play sign on page.

What's going on? And is there anything I can do about it?

We've been using Nextcloud Deck (https://apps.nextcloud.com/apps/deck) for kanbans in @RadicalRoutes recently, and that seems to work moderately well.

I just checked the open managed nextcloud instances I'm on ( @autonomic's cooperative.computer and thegood.cloud) and neither of them seem to have that app enabled by default, but I expect it could be enabled easily enough.

Anyone got recommendations for #mastodon/ #fediverse servers which focus on #FOSS but recognise it as inherently political and celebrate the way it intersects with other activist communities?

Context: lots of folks seem to be feeling like #fosstodon has shown it doesn't align with their values, but I don't know where to recommend as an alternative.

A'right... after the nazi salute incident last night I'm putting my daydream into action this morning: I've messaged two organisations I love but who do not have a presence on the fediverse asking whether I can help them set something up

I've just set my WhatsApp status to:

"I've turned off WhatsApp notifications to protest Meta's policy on LGBT hate-speech. If you want to reach me - use Signal."

...and turned off notifications. I'll check it every now and then because so many people/groups in my life don't use Signal yet, but... fuck this.

No pressure to answer but I'm curious what you're referring to about lemmy if you're open to sharing?
Context: I signed up for an account on slrpnk.net recently and it seems pretty cool, but if there's background politics/drama that I'm not aware of I'd prefer to find out sooner rather than later 😅
