@superjan73@juliewebgirl Depends on the delivery mechanism. Water balloons filled with water and glitter would be a good ranged option. Confetti cannons could work, but you would want to mind the wind direction.
@wonka@superjan73@juliewebgirl The problem I see with paintball guns is that they look too much like real guns and we know how twitchy and prone to violence US law enforcement can be. Bright colored party balloons are less threatening. But absolutely fill those balloons with odorant-laced water and glitter. Make these people's families cringe when they come home twinkling and smelling of rotten eggs.
It got me thinking, what sort of other things could a person use to generate true randomness? I thought maybe using a video feed of a clear electric kettle boiling. I also realized that maybe someone could build something that uses the Monterey Bay Aquarium's jellyfish cam.
@FlashMobOfOne I don't know how many times I've not felt like making dinner so I find something to order for delivery. Find out that after tips and delivery fees I'll end up paying $50 for my $20 meal and just make dinner at home.
I have identified a book thief at the library. The fucking idiot spent nearly half an hour with one of our security cameras literally over his shoulder recording everything that he did.
I only found it because I was bored and randomly going through the camera feeds and caught him tearing the RFID tag out of a book.
One of the things I'm hoping for in the next 4 years is that the Dems still in power do not bend to demands of "bipartisanship" and aid the fascists in any government actions. Make those pricks own every single horrible thing they want to do. Any Dems that "cross the aisle" should be primaried all the way into the ground. Label them as collaborators and pillory them next to the fascists.
While I'm looking forward to the Interview with a Vampire series moving onto the next books, I'm going to really miss Jacob Anderson playing Louis as much. He is a huge part of why I really like this show. I also think it's a shame that Game of Thrones had him play such a stoical character, because they lost out on how dynamic an actor he is.
One of our annual Halloween traditions is to watch 'The Exorcist'. After 50 years and so many rewatches this movie is still incredible and captivating. It is truly one of the greatest horror films ever made. #Horror#Halloween
@FlashMobOfOne That does sound fun! Both Blumhouse and Shudder have big programs today. Probably going to attend at least the latter one which will have a panel of directors from some of the Shudder releases this year
@FlashMobOfOne That was my first year! At that point they offered Professional passes to librarians, and Thursday was a dedicated Pro day with programming specific to comic creators, writers, publishers, librarians, etc. It's gotten much larger since then. The Javits almost seems too small
@liztai@glecharles The couple of times I completed it, I had to paste my work into a field on their website where it would have a word counter and validate your account as finishing.
@glecharles The first thing I think of is how every participant is required to submit the text of their submission for validation. I'm sure those millions and millions of words from thousands and thousands of writers looks like a very tasty buffet for data hungry AI models.
Starting off spooky season with a visit to Camp Crystal Lake and the original Friday the 13th. Got a big bowl of popcorn and ready to watch a legend. #Horror
@ppb1701@BeAware And you can follow hashtags the same way you would follow an account or a list. It's a great way to get toots of interest in your feed from people that you may not have found organically
