FBI agents on Thursday raided the Cleveland offices of the Ohio Organizing Collaborative, a pro-democracy organization that helps register voters in that state, three people briefed on the search told MS NOW. Agents also fanned out across the state, showing up at the homes of the group’s leaders and staff members, carrying some subpoenas and seeking information and electronic devices. https://www.ms.now/news/ohio-pro-democracy-organization-raided-by-fbi

The Minnesota Court of Appeals has ruled that the city of Faribault didn’t have enough information about a proposed hyperscale data center when it decided the project didn’t require a more thorough environmental review. The court ordered the city to either order an environmental impact statement, or postpone the decision for up to 30 days to get the needed information it lacks. https://www.mprnews.org/story/2026/06/08/appeals-court-rules-faribault-erred-in-data-center-decision

A state administrative law judge ruled Monday that a rural electric cooperative cannot cut power to a tribal casino in western Minnesota over the tribe’s decision to build a large solar array. The finding could reshape how electric cooperatives across Minnesota treat customers who want to generate their own electricity. https://www.mprnews.org/story/2026/06/10/judge-says-rural-electric-utility-cannot-cut-tribal-nations-power-over-solar-array

Phase 1 of the spring carpet cleaning is complete. The drying, of course, takes way longer than the cleaning even with a 20” shop fan to speed it up.

Phase 2 has less square feet but requires more stuff to be moved. 🫤

Note to future self: Don’t get MRIs on Fridays. You’ll get the radiologist’s results but not the doctor’s and will have to ponder the former without the context of the latter...all....weekend...long. 🫤

The police chief in the small southern Minnesota city of St. Peter intervened Thursday afternoon to prevent federal immigration agents from arresting a local resident. It's believed to be the first time a local police department in Minnesota intervened in a federal law enforcement action since the surge in immigration enforcement began two months ago. https://www.mprnews.org/story/2026/01/30/st-peter-police-chief-intervenes-prevents-federal-agents-from-arresting-resident

@cdarwin Yes and no. The legislative session is over, and there’s plenty of time to hold special elections.

The local Minnesota news media seem to be waking up to the danger they've been downplaying for the last 8-10 years.

@inthehands @martin.kleppmann.com Which is sad. He should have stayed the dumbest and worst president of our lifetimes...yet here we are. Again. 🫥

People thought I was overreacting when I spent December rolling over retirement accts from previous jobs into my current one and then moved everything into stable funds shortly after the inauguration.
.
Who’s laughing now? Not me, because I don’t take pleasure in other’s misery. Plus when W crashed the economy, I lost 2/3rds of my savings and my parents pretty much all of theirs. Lesson learned.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture canceled almost half of food shelf orders from Minnesota farmers under the federal Commodity Credit Corporation. @marlies If you do what you always do, you will get what you’ve always gotten.

They damn well better nominated Harris or I’ll be doubly pissed.
