@skinnylatte I dunno about "best" since I rarely eat fast food or burger joints in general anymore (but there's a Carl's right around the corner which often tempts the cravings). But when I do I've been snagging their El Diablo burger, just because it has the extra peppers. Same with the Jalitos burger back at Dairy Queen when I was in Texas, I like fried jalapenos too much.

But it definitely sits very heavy afterwards, I can't eat that kind of thing in warmer weather. :drgn_dizzy:

@skinnylatte Forgive me if I'm mixing people up but I think it was you that posted at one point about sweet breakfasts in America being a bit jarring as an immigrant and being more accustomed to mild sweet or even savory? I remember it caught my attention and intrigue, I finally got around to trying an experiment with some whole rolled oats. Peanut butter, the more organic "nuts, nut oil, salt, no extra sugar" kind I'd probably end up making if I had the chance. Fresh thyme, of all things! Bit of dark brown sugar to balance out. I think I added a little too much extra salt but this "savory oatmeal" is actually really delightful, I feel like I should chop up some mild, non-trash/overbred apples on top and it'd be perfect.

Again, I hope I'm not mixing you and another up but I'm very thankful for the idea!

@rad @mishi @Doreen32128 @AnarchoNinaWrites I don't want to hedge too many hopes as I'm not a particularly faithful person in anything. Burned too much for that.

But one thing keeping my calm is "the red mirage" theory: same as with 2020, as Kyle Kulinski laid out then and now. In most states votes cast on election night are counted first, and overwhelmingly the demographics likely to vote day of are likely Republican. Then, the early voting ballots are counted. There's MORE adoption of early voting now by Republicans than in 2020, when they were convinced it would all disappear in defraudment, but it should still be a majority Dem lean there.

So in the following week those will be counted and it will appear the Dems catch up, theoretically, before all votes are called.

The actually scary thing to me is that Trump spent months building the case that he is inevitable, and only day of votes are legit, and anything after (mostly Dem) are fraud. Then priming his base for violence and to claim it was stolen...

@darrellpf @actuallyautistic I honestly thought that was the ADHD part of my experience with hyperfocus and getting wound up into a temporary manic phase, mixed with the autism desire for repetitive patterns and efficiency and organization...things definitely get messy in figuring out what and when.

@HauntedOwlbear I've rarely seen somebody lay it out so thoroughly and firmly, bravo.

@anarchopunk_girl @ExecGoofy Yeah. Honestly, if not for this whole fiasco, from what I can read of his profile before/aside it. I probably would have liked the guy, he seems pretty strong willed and has a good idea on oooooother political matters....but as you said, seems he's in his own way here on this one.

Hopefully in the future he'll turn it around, preferably sooner than later.

@anarchopunk_girl @ExecGoofy To be fair, that goes both ways: I held myself from immediately jumping into parroting the TechDot fervor because I hadn't been following what happened before it exploded. And I wanted to try and figure out what both sides had to say. Because by all means, all *I* saw was "he's transphobic he's transphobic MastoArt is being transphobic", and the claim that Ro was arguing the same of TechDot but race.

I'm still not confident I have the full picture but now I reasonably think "He had a point about TechDot Admins, BUT he also messed up with the blocklist, and overreacted; MastoArt admins are wholly in the wrong and this fallout is just hurting every, only the deliberate bigots are winning"

There's a lot of buried landmines because of the history of minorities, especially AfroAmericans (and outside of this case, Indigenous), being sidelined and blamed for everything. So that's something that does have to be considered as to why and what.
