But one thing keeping my calm is "the red mirage" theory: same as with 2020, as Kyle Kulinski laid out then and now. In most states votes cast on election night are counted first, and overwhelmingly the demographics likely to vote day of are likely Republican. Then, the early voting ballots are counted. There's MORE adoption of early voting now by Republicans than in 2020, when they were convinced it would all disappear in defraudment, but it should still be a majority Dem lean there.
So in the following week those will be counted and it will appear the Dems catch up, theoretically, before all votes are called.
The actually scary thing to me is that Trump spent months building the case that he is inevitable, and only day of votes are legit, and anything after (mostly Dem) are fraud. Then priming his base for violence and to claim it was stolen...
