After mice drink raw #H5N1 milk, bird flu virus riddles their organs

Researchers at the University of Wisconsin-Madison squirted raw H5N1-containing milk from infected cows into the throats of anesthetized laboratory mice, finding that the virus caused systemic infections after the mice were observed swallowing the dose. Subsequent analysis found that the mice had high levels of H5N1 #birdflu virus in their respiratory tracts, as well their hearts, kidneys, spleens, livers, mammary glands, and brains.

The researchers also found that #rawmilk containing H5N1 can remain infectious for weeks when stored at refrigerator temperatures.

A prior study reported that over half of the 24 or so cats on an H5N1-infected dairy farm in Texas died after drinking raw milk. Before their deaths, the cats displayed distressing neurological symptoms, and studies found the virus had invaded their lungs, brains, hearts, and eyes.

Just 35% of Americans trusted #Democrats more on economic issues, according to weeks of private polling.

Perhaps most alarming, 7 out of 10 people believed the economy wasn’t getting better — even after they were explicitly told that inflation had eased and unemployment sat near record lows. That preface, designed specifically to persuade voters to brighten their view of the economy, did not seem to move them.

Voters blame the administration for the sharp rise in basic expenses like groceries, gas and housing, and they remain fixated on the cost of living even as inflation has moderated.

Voters responded far better when talk of Biden’s record was paired with an acknowledgment the economy remained challenging and a reminder of Trump’s record. But even that approach failed to turn most voters positive on the economy.

Trump Leads in 5 Critical States as Voters Blast Biden, Times/Siena Poll Finds

President Biden is trailing Donald J. Trump in five of the six most important battleground states one year before the 2024 election, suffering from enormous doubts about his age and deep dissatisfaction over his handling of the economy and a host of other issues.

Discontent pulsates throughout the Times/Siena poll, with a majority of voters saying Mr. Biden’s policies have personally hurt them.

Demographic groups that backed Mr. Biden by landslide margins in 2020 are now far more closely contested, as two-thirds of the electorate sees the country moving in the wrong direction.

Voters under 30 favor Mr. Biden by only a single percentage point, his lead among Hispanic voters is down to single digits and his advantage in urban areas is half of Mr. Trump’s edge in rural regions.

fwiw I’m quite happy to hang out in fedi neighborhoods which don’t meet with the approval of the ultra-woke self-appointed blocklist operators and the dingleberries who fellate them in every single thread related to the topic. they’re insufferable and culty, and I don’t want to spend my precious personal time endlessly rubbing elbows with people who act like that.

it turns out that many years of single-party rule with zero accountability leads to all kinds of spectacularly poor performance from government, and now quite a few chickens are coming home to roost.
