The idea that, if we vote and successfully elect Harris we can never think of Trump again is as foolish as it is dangerous.

Trump’s engine (Bannon, his donor base, Jones etc.), his kids, Ivanka will all continue and they will eventually rally around someone smarter, younger, more effectively closeted in their indiscretions and they’ll win if we can’t stop being self defeating idiots.

What I like so much about reading your writing on Prince is that *you* love Prince and you draw me into it as if letting me in on secrets your fandom compels you to share.

I am just fine with feature limiting Apple products in Europe all the way out to malicious compliance (which the latest is not. You’ll know it if see it). Taking out a sense of entitlement on Apple while the EU continues try and ban E2E encryption is just such 2024 naivety.

Apple is not a monopoly. If they were based in Europe there’d be half this DMA hullabaloo because they wouldn’t need to be protectionist. Trump tariffs are dumb. This is dumb.

Now, bear in mind, when I say I had no idea, I deployed or supported UMAX, PowerComputing, DayStar and Motorola Mac clones back I in the day. [All unwillingly, the clones era was TERRIBLE and PowerComputing were absolutely parasitic and misleading at BEST and the hardware garbage and the rest, too small (UMAX/DayStar) or underinvested (Moto) to the point of being destructive.]
