A Chinese company isn't protected by American laws. Only US citizens and companies are. Protection against censorship doesn't go beyond the US borders. It's not censorship unless it is silencing American citizens or companies.

For those who believe TikTok doesn't deserve a ban, search for "Chinese Uyghurs" within the app. You won't see content criticizing the CCP. It's not a free speech platform if topics are tightly controlled.

@BeAware Assuming a non-volatile, inflationary currency, if someone wants to earn interest, they'll have to put it into a bank, and the bank can use that money to issue loans.

If currency is deflationary, sure, everyone will put it under their mattresses or in the case of crypto their wallets.

But a deflationary currency would be a disaster for the economy. The great depression is the most famous example of what happens because of a deflationary spiral.

@BeAware The worst part is that people think that crypto somehow fixes this. People still need banks to save and loan money, even if money was in crypto.
