   I wish I could host my own version of BridgyFed that's actually usable instead of this broken "opt-in" crap that was forced onto us by the Fedi Mafia.🙄

   If you want to talk to people on Bluesky and they aren't bridged, just make a Bluesky account cause getting someone to bridge across platforms is next to impossible.

     @ppb1701 yep, and it seems it can be self-hosted but the docs read like gibberish to me. I'm too unknowledgeable with these things.

     @BeAware The Fediverse, as a whole, is one giant plane that is both still being built AND in the air at the same time. Some people want to be airplane mechanics, building the plane under us as we go, others want to be pilots and control where the plane is headed.

     Others (it's me, I'm bitches) just don't want the plane to fall out of the sky again, as they are getting really tired of slamming into the ground at near-to-above terminal velocity.

     @BeAware Entirely agree.

     It's one of the reasons I've been using Friendica. It integrates Bluesky into the timeline, and you can read posts, and reply to people without any opt-in requirements of any sort whatsoever. And you can freely post to Bluesky from Friendica to broader Bluesky.

     And it's not at all an issue for anyone. The same is true for their Tumblr integration.

     It's enjoyable not to have a broken Bluesky linkage I have here in Mastodon.
