@liztai I love the King of Fruits (although I call her Queen)! Understandably, hard to get in the U.S. But I did eat some excellent durian ice cream while in New York City--so not impossible.
We discovered that our recently adopted princess refuses to go outside in the rain. This hasn't been a problem because we can wait until the rain stops for a moment. But today is all rain all the time. There shall be a battle of the wills involving her bladder and bowel today. (photo attached)
We’ve got 10 musicians on our front porch now, including a huge bass and hammered dulcimer. Plus two cloggers on the sidewalk. The rain stopped for a bit—maybe it will hold off some more.
1. Last night's small BBQ with neighbor from across the street was a good time.
2. I made an amazing banana ice cream using a custard base with 6 egg yolks and a heck of a lot of cream. Then used the 6 egg whites to make vanilla-lime merengue cookies. Both were delicious and served in ceramics that I made. (photos attached)
3. My experimental monoprinting on clay turned out well. I made 6 small dishes for holding used tea bags or infusers. (photo attached)
May 18, 2024. Photo taken just now as we head into the golden hour in Ann Arbor, Michigan. This is our first peony bloom of the season--with many more coming soon. Isn't she a beauty? (photo attached)
@iquaanyin So glad I got a Measles-Mumps-Rubella booster this spring. I am in that demographic where my original vaccine was likely no longer effective and was relying on herd immunity to keep me safe. Well that went out the door with the onslaught of anti-vaxxers.
@design_law I don't get it. I see people complaining that it's so hard to get started on Mastodon and build a community, but I'm a computer illiterate Mac user and had no problems and got up and running quickly. Do people want an algorithm to decide what posts and people you see?
