@_elena thanks. I'm on a similar journey, but still using other people's servers (e.g. proton). I have a RPi4 and I'm in the process of upgrading to a RPi5 as the 4 was just too slow.

@_elena why are you self-hosting?

@_elena I have a similar issue, but Linux is pretty good once you get used to it. I'm upgrading from a RPi 4 to 5 at the moment so I'm thinking about which OS to go for and whether it would be able to finally replace my 9yr old Mac air.

@_elena good progress! How are you finding Ubuntu on the Pi? And is it good enough to use as a desktop computer?

I've deleted Twitter from my phone and I'm going to give Mastodon a real try. Can this platform be a fairer, more inclusive social media?
