@kaia@brotka.st they force you to upload your contacts to start conversations within the app (supposedly there's workarounds, but it's sketch that they do this imo). Besides that one thing, it seems fine for now(?) The chats are E2EE

NavBlank (nav@maid.army)'s status on Friday, 09-Feb-2024 03:28:23 JST NavBlank @thatbrickster@shitposter.club yeah, that's not okay. I'd be furious too.
I have a philosophical question though. Like it seems generally accepted where I am in America for kids to get braces to straighten crooked teeth. But this seems cosmetic? Piercing a baby's ears feels unethical. But, if straightening crooked teeth is okay and piercing ears isn't, how do we make that distinction? Should parents not straighten their kids' teeth?
Probably a big distinction is that no one is straightening a *baby's* teeth. Maybe that's where it becomes unethical -

NavBlank (nav@maid.army)'s status on Friday, 09-Feb-2024 03:28:21 JST NavBlank @thatbrickster@shitposter.club I forgot about the pain part. I also forgot baby teeth fall out.
Fully cosmetic modifications then seems to be where the issue is. Since it would also be wrong to tattoo a child -

But that's an added service that's basically just expected for free now I think. All domain registrars do (as solely a registrar) is submit your info to the registry and collect money I think. Usually, the fees are pretty modest, but some companies like Endurance International Group like to charge very high fees (I've never heard something good about them).

One negative is there is no official warranty period. But they say they do "goodwill" exchanges/spare part deliveries within the first two years of purchase -

NavBlank (nav@maid.army)'s status on Saturday, 26-Aug-2023 02:43:21 JST NavBlank @kaia@brotka.st I know it's a meme, but this reminds me of a more serious story.
When I was younger, I was at the beach and we didn't have my life jacket for whatever reason. I borrowed a different one. And it was not enough to keep me above water. I kept bobbing below and above water and was struggling and I was inadvertently headed towards the underside of a dock. Right before I was about to be fully under the dock, some nice teen girl pulled me out.
I'm sure I could've drowned with a lifejacket on if not pulled out in time. -

NavBlank (nav@maid.army)'s status on Thursday, 15-Jun-2023 08:52:46 JST NavBlank @lain@lain.com I can get these at a lot of stores that sell Eastern European food near Chicago. Interestingly, the brand is "Dadu" here instead of "Dovgan."
