@DaddyO I would avoid Alaska. I’ve flown Alaska, American, and Delta this year. Delta was my favorite. United is known for terrible customer service.

@DaddyO @slamy they are knit fabric that seems to be bonded to a very thin shiny layer. They stretch and there is no friction when you put them on. Weirdo pants technology has come a long way.

Actual things my husband says to me “these people are normal Christian people, you can’t wear those vinyl pants, please just listen to me on this”
Me: “well then can I wear disco pants?”
For the record they were patent leather leggings and I think they are the coolest thing ever, but he thinks they look like fetish wear.

@slamy I think you nailed it. I was going to wear a big fuzzy sweater but I’ll save them for Vegas or a rock concert or whatever. I’m adding a lot of denim to my wardrobe these days.

Just a friendly reminder that pickup artists are scammers. Just found out a random polite small talk conversation I had with some guys in Vegas was filmed and posted to YouTube as a successful pickup approach. I could tell they were running a game and was completely uninterested, said I was married and am visibly rolling my eyes at them. All the comments: fire! You are a king! Like WTF is wrong with these people? Is it all to impress other men?

I’m planning my Christmas boxes for relatives. Usually I send homemade jam, soap, and a variety of cookies. This year I’m thinking of sending a cake instead of cookies , maybe some kind of rich, nutty pound cake. Or candy, maybe homemade marshmallows. What would you prefer? I feel like people get pretty tired of cookies at Christmas.

All the reactionary, well socialized females in my feed are asking for ceasefire. I’m sure your social media post will stop a many thousand year blood feud on the other side of the world, Alison. I’m worried that these people genuinely think social media is real life and that if they don’t personally condemn these atrocities from their high horse of 10,000 followers, they are somehow complicit. It’s bananas.

@Sophistifunk @Peaceandprosperity @Murray_N I miss Northgate mall. It was in Seattle, the first fully indoor mall in the US. It had a brutalist Nordstrom, the Toys R Us where Lane Staley used to wander when he was really high, and Excalibur, which was a knife store with a suit of armor. It was a clean, accessible, middle class kind of place. They redeveloped it into a hockey practice arena among other things.

I have to give up (caffeinated) coffee. Anyone have a good alternative? Does postum still exist? I don’t think I’m going to drink beef broth or butter water in the morning, what else is there? I’ve heard about some cacao stuff, some mushroom stuff, lots of expensive social media marketed post-coffee products.
Must be caffeine free.

I make my own soap, because once you’ve used beef tallow soap, nothing else will do.

I used to give it to family and friends but I never got much feedback. Lots of people are still using liquid soap or feel strange about animal fats in their soap.
Now that tallow is in fashion, maybe it’s time to sell some of this.

Washingtonians when they see all the east coasters freaking out about wildfire smoke.
