@todwest @WarnerCrocker @davidtoddmccarty Unfortunately, on the US side, the Supreme Court is also on the verge to take a radical step in dismantling the "administrative state", i.e. the ability for the government to govern. The intent of course being to prevent useful and nimble regulations across all industries. So even an agency would only have the right to do to the letter what congress proscribed, making expert agencies mostly redundant. Soon government will be small enough to drown.

CubeThoughts (cubethoughts@mastodon.social)'s status on Wednesday, 07-Feb-2024 06:42:22 JST CubeThoughts @davidtoddmccarty @todwest @WarnerCrocker With keeping the Senate and getting rid of the blue slips, places like the fifth circuit could be revamped. With the House, court expansion could be possible (in addition to actual legislation). But, as you say, slim chances. Especial with SCOTUS having reduced (but not yet obliterated) the Voting Rights Act.
It's getting pretty hard to see a viable return to sanity.
