In addition, just a word of advice: if you run a Mastodon server, or another fedi server: you seriously need to look up the UK Online Safety Act.

It will affect you, it's social media, it's included in it as you have users posting content.

If I was running one, to be blunt, I would just straight-up shut it down. Not worth the potential fines. This law is totally whack.

URGENT: Please boost this for awareness among people who care about human rights & LGBTQ safety

The US Senate is voting on #KOSA today, the dangerous Kids Online Safety Act.

It won't protect kids. It's a censorship bill.

the ACLU, EFF, and dozens of human rights organizations oppose it.

We can still stop it in the House.

@davidtoddmccarty @todwest @WarnerCrocker With keeping the Senate and getting rid of the blue slips, places like the fifth circuit could be revamped. With the House, court expansion could be possible (in addition to actual legislation). But, as you say, slim chances. Especial with SCOTUS having reduced (but not yet obliterated) the Voting Rights Act.

It's getting pretty hard to see a viable return to sanity.
