@RamenCatholic I don't think Dark Harry is swapping. I think he's pulling Dresden into his universe so he can kill him and fake is own death with the body. At least that's what reddit says the premise is
Okay folks, I occasionally like to scan Reddit and see what updates there have been in the last few months/years. Here's a list I copied of potential upcoming plans.
Book 18 - Next up is Twelve Months. It'll be 12 vignettes of Harry dealing with personal problems. Some subjects include12 dates with Lara Raith, the Leanansidhe, his faerie godmother, showing up to kick his ass into getting moving again and the first appearance of the Librarians. #DresdenFiles
Book 19 - Mirror Mirror, an alternate timeline involving Harry Prime getting swept into another universe by his evil alternate self from that timeline. Evil Harry's been killing other Dresdens and ends up biting off more than he can chew with HP. There's a hint that alternate Mab might rope HP into working for her while he's there. Jim said things went to hell faster in that universe. May be foreshadowing the BAT. Timeline diverges in Grave Peril.
Book 20 - the last Denarian novel before the BAT, this one is up in the air but probably incomes Harry, Nicodemus and Marcone with Butters getting involved as the Jedi Knight of Faith
Book 21 - this one is also up in the air, there's supposed to be a full on Dragon book as one of the last case files but also a pro wrestling/greek god book titled Body Slam involving Harry being recruited by the greek gods through Hades to investigate a regular old God Murder.
Book 22 - Time Travel, Jim has said 22 will likely be time travel. It's been long suspected we'll learn who ran Harry off the road in Proven Guilty along with who fixed Little Chicago. Could be Harry time hopping adventures, but I suspect it'll be prepping for the BAT. My best guess is we'll find out who created Demonreach and how Harry is tied to them. Bob says it was Merlin, but Harry is weirdly familiar with the sigils. Could be passed down from McCoy
Looks like the Big Apocalypse Trilogy have been ordered (different from what I speculated) Stars and Stones - the first book of BAT and book 23. Likely be the next appearance of Mavra & Vlad Drakul, newly revealed Starborn who clearly has plans for the Stars and Stones. Theories we'll see the death of Faerie Queens, Harry vs Titania in a long awaited grudge match, Molly and Sarissa becoming new Queens and the devastation of Faerie & breaking of the Stone Table
Hell's Bells - book 2 of BAT and # 24. Not much is known other than Harry will be taking a trip into Hell itself and we'll be meeting Lucifer, who is probably involved with the apocalypse. There's a WOJ hinting that Hell's Bells are actual Bells Harry needs to retrieve. All 3 Knights of the cross will likely be in in this book. I think there's no way Nicodemus and the Denarians aren't involved in a book revolving around Hell and THE Fallen Angel himself.
Empty Night - book 3 of the BAT and book 25. According to Nemesis in Battle Ground, Empty Night is the unraveling of all creation into darkness and silence. It's the Outsider Apocalypse & likely where we finally get the Black Council being forced out into the open. May get that rematch between Harry & He Who Walks Behind. Who are Cowl other Black Council members? The White Court probably important considering Empty Night is their curse. Drakul may show
@RamenCatholic got speculation for Mirror Mirror? What decision do you think alternate universe Harry makes differently in Grave Peril? How do you think that impacts the world?
I just watched The Batman last night and had a realization.
Harry Dresden is Batman.
They both Are detectives Fight unusual crime that the city can't handle Live in "Chicago" Have an underground lair Vigilante Make all their own tools Wear a big flappy outer garment Are known for their willpower Can take a hell of a beating Trained a protege who didn't choose the path they expected Orphan Wear all black to important events Strict don't kill people rule
I did an archiving! The McCALL'S M4695 Men's Rennaissance Doublet pattern is more than 20 years old and out of print. I got my hands on one of the patterns and decided to go ahead and digitize it before I cut it up for use. Check it out on #InternetArchive if you'd like to use it!
Hey skiers and snowboarders. Did you know that #VailResorts is refusing to good faith negotiate with its #union in Park City UT? Yeah the ski patrollers have been on strike over Christmas because they won't give raises to match inflation.
If you think this is a problem, your can do something even if you don't ski in Utah! Vail Resorts owns the Epic pass. Consider letting them know you're looking into switching passes because of this
@markwyner I think the best strat is focusing on building strong communities.
Helping other people can make you feel empowered, and then the community is that much stronger and able to help you when you're in trouble.
My plan is to get together with a friend and dedicate one morning/afternoon a week to volunteering. I'll know I'm helping folks, I'm having friend time, and I'll be making friends who I can count on if I need it.
Hey friends, Do you want to help with scientific research? The University of Colorado Boulder needs people to help transcribe bee information from photographs of their collection. You look at a picture and type out any of the written information in the bee's label.
If you've got a few free minutes, give it a whirl! Even just doing 1 or 2 will help
@emilygorcenski yeah I was just there as an exchange student for a semester. While I never heard or felt anything disrespectful aimed at me (except for a handsy drunk guy at Oktoberfest) I sure did hear a lot about "guys who are just here to marry their way into citizenship". Ugh.
@julesh my fav forks discussion, from the movie Becket:
Thomas a Becket: Tonight you can do me the honor of christening my forks. King Henry II: Forks? Thomas a Becket: Yes, from Florence. New little invention. It's for pronging meat and carrying it to the mouth. It saves you dirtying your fingers. King Henry II: But then you dirty the fork. Thomas a Becket: Yes, but it's washable. King Henry II: So are your fingers. I don't see the point.
@anna welcome! Apologies if you're already familiar with all this stuff. Posts aren't searchable, so if you want other people to see what you talk about, use #hashtags liberally. You can find people with similar interests by searching hashtags. You'll probably want to follow at least 50 people to have a regularly updating feed. You can also follow hashtags for the subjects you're interested. Highly recommended you pick a couple. Check out @feditips for more suggestions on tailoring your feed.
