@DMakarios That last line looks like scrawled Japanese ?Kanji, which are the same characters as Chinese, but pronounced differently
first character looks like 'not' (ไธ)
but beyond that i'm stuck lol

* cooked tomato and spinach and garlic with melted cheese mixed through
* sautรฉed bananas with cream
* caprese salad
because yum and i'm sick of the constant celebration of junk food, so just putting this here to remind me later
Merry Christmas, everyone. I hope you get to spend time with your family and loved ones, and you are able to reflect on the joy of the gift God has given to all of us - the Christ :)
oooh ooh the Pour Over news email now comes in 'Decaf' ... for families!!
I love it!
@greypilgrim I like your thinking ๐
@ned a $3.50 cup of coffee is now $6, a $2 2L/milk is now $3.30 ... only 30%?
Just wanted to put a shout out in for Cristina over at Saturday Gift - she's put up 42 weekly planner PDFs (all for free) and i'm loving them โค๏ธ
PS I've never met her, I don't know her from a bar of soap and this isn't sponsored in any way... it's literally just me raving about something cool I found. <3
@ilyess seriously ECH sounds awesome and I didn't know someone had actually made it a thing
@ilyess Ha. And here I was dreaming of being able to set up my private task management server with something like ECH using a pre-shared key, and setting the server to not respond to non-decryptable comms or portscans
Last time I set up a (next)cloud server it only lasted a few weeks, so before trying again, I'm trying to figure out how to reduce the amount of random hackers that can even see the server, let alone crash my server
@ChiaChatter I hear you - maintenance overhead made me give up on NextCloud too
Dear future me:
You can either watch the world, or improve the world. But nobody ever made the world a better place by doomscrolling nor by watching TV.
Today's musing...
"Man who chases two hares, goes hungry"
Installing OnlyOffice now...
Maybe I should just use Google Sheets.
Ugh.
Do LibreOffice developers not use the products they're developing or something?
I have 500 fields to paste into a spreadsheet (5 fields of info about 100 groups) for a list i'm compiling for someone, and every. single. time. I paste data into a LibreOffice Calc field, it pops up a dialog asking me if i'd like to detect the input language automatically or whether i'd like to manually select one. If i just quit the dialog, it doesn't paste. There's no "remember this" option, nor a way to turn it off.
This bug has been open for literally *10 years* and it's making my life really difficult at the moment... but the developers just argued about it for a few posts but didn't let anyone fix it.
urghhhh.
because i'm tired and @trbutler did it first:
If you see this, you're obligated to list your 10 favorite bands/artists (no order). [Got this over on the Site Formerly Known as Twitter.]
- I Am They
- King and Country
- Shane & Shane
- Colin Buchanan
- Maverick City Music
- Scott Wesley Brown
- Sons of Korah
- CityAlight
- Casting Crowns
....and Blondie.
does anyone know of a smartwatch that supports wireless charging?
I just had to decommission a second fitbit because the charging contacts on the watch were worn out (a few weeks after the warranty expired, conveniently) and i'm a bit over it
@DMakarios maybe. mint is tough, ey
@DMakarios I should add, from memory it takes leaving them on one patch every day for a week for effective de-weeding... then do the adjacent patch to reduce border ingress into the newly acidified fertilised soil
@DMakarios coop the chickens in a puppy play-pen thing right on top of it, they scratch out anything green until it's bare dirt... and they keep doing it. Much easier than digging it out yourself
You sound like an interesting person to follow, I don't actually want to be in an echo chamber ๐คทโ๏ธ NB I unfollow people who post a lot of stuff that is deliberately inflammatory, political, really crude or sweary - especially in images as I can't auto mute those. Warnings: beware of brutal honesty, blatant christianity, aspie mindedness and occasional tech jargon. I don't swear out of respect for allies over at refchat, and generally keep it SFW (my definition of SFW includes some christian themes lol... SFW if you work in a church office?)I'm here to ask q's, think out loud, write notes to future-me and to cheer on others who are doing good stuff... I'm not here to pick fights. Also, I randomly clean out my timeline to remove chatter and stuff I don't care about keeping. :)
