Hey, really interesting posts. If you could elaborate that, I’d really appreciate it. I’ve always assumed it was part of a common pattern: booming economies lose their cheap labour factor over time. What happened actually? And how was it perceived there?

@Gargron @Jeremiah Yes, from what I know, the Mozilla Foundation (non-profit, funded by donations) owns the Mozilla Corporation (the taxable one that receives money from Google, and manages the development of Firefox). So basically the CEO is paid with Google money (or Yahoo money in the past), but so is Firefox.

ISP asks ~20 €/mo for a static IP on top of other costs, and only offers it to businesses.

Can have ~5 VMs at Hetzner for that money.

I guess we wouldn't have this problem with IPv6 totally deployed? Or maybe my provider is just not interested in competitive prices for this service?

What other choices do I have (save Cloudflare, etc)?

@Gargron No, Bitstream Vera is what Firefox started defaulting to on my system (Debian stable + xfce) since 102, but I changed it back to Cantarell, which was previous default. So now every other page that uses system font shows Cantarell, except for Mastodon, which does that. ?♂️

@Gargron Following on the system font thing, I don't get why both font-family properties are crossed-out... ? There may be some CSS shenanigan over there.

@Gargron @fribbledom Is it that the post content is no longer aligned to the right margin of the avatar?

A wider column with the same font size may look uglier (less easy to read), but above all, less air tend to look worse. And the visual cue of the avatars, which previously formed a column (like a conversation) is now broken. idk. Maybe it's a matter of time, but right now I don't like it.

Also, idk why FF stopped honoring my "use system font" setting since 102. Maybe it's a FF thing...

@fribbledom Suddenly there's less padding or is just me? Not sure what changed, but TL looks uglier.

@noellabo @feditips That's coherent with the remote view, but it will also get a bit out of sight (and invisible on mobile).

Oh, I think now we can sort posts by tags on local profile views too, cool. I believe this only could be done on remote profile views before.

Seem they are also defined by the "featured hashtags" set on profile.
