I hate how unreliable the universal clipboard is on #macos and #ios. For a feature that #Apple promotes as one of the benefits and conveniences of using its devices and operating systems, this “unpredictably works for a while then doesn’t work for a while until it does again” behavior is unacceptable.

I found the command below on Reddit and it appears to be helping (seems to work better with a cut than a copy).

But you know that stereotype that Linux is too hard to use because you have to go looking for terminal commands on forums?

    defaults write ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.coreservices.useractivityd.plist ClipboardSharingEnabled 1

I was fine with that when I used Linux as my main OS, but no one ever promised that “it just works” because the OS and hardware were so tightly integrated.

@picofarad @toolsontech I’ve used Windows, Linux, and Mac and I’m fine with learning curves. I actually prefer the Mac’s use of command as the primary modifier key rather than control, and if I ever heavily use Windows or Linux again I’ll look for a way to emulate that.

Tbf, I never had a universal clipboard before I started using Apple products. I just don’t like that something they promote doesn’t work so often. But mostly I’m happy with MacBooks and okay with iPhones.

@JetlagJen @inthehands This is a beautiful thought, but I’m pretty sure you mean *Nazca* lines, not Nascar (probably autocorrect gone rogue):

    > Dedicated SDXC port: why?

A lot of pro photographers use these machines, but for the rest of us, Transcend (and possibly others) sells cards that fit flush with the cases of the Mx MBPs and can be used to expand the base storage (slower but fine for less used files) or for Time Machine backups.

    Let me get this straight…

His legal team wants to establish a secure facility to review classified evidence *at the very scene of the crimes he is alleged to have committed*, which is in fact his primary domicile? And these alleged crimes involved *the theft and mishandling of classified materials*?

@atomicpoet @fediversenews Does Calckey not work with Mastodon clients? I added it to @IceCubesApp and was able to sign in, but I’m getting an error message that it can’t load posts.

If I boost something, it’s not always because I agree with it. Sometimes it’s because I find it thought-provoking even though I don’t agree with some or even all of it, and sometimes it’s because I think others will find it useful or interesting.
