@tokyo_0 It was in the testing phase, lessons were learned, but they’re going to do some tweaks to before re-introducing it.

@atomicpoet That looks encouraging. Kinda weird no one mentioned it when I asked them a month ago. Maybe I've misremembered exactly what was being discussed. You'd think it'd be pretty big news — it's certainly a selling point. Is there any documentation on how the feature works, and what is or isn't migrated? (I did look on the site you linked, earlier, but the documentation section didn't seem to load properly for me.)

@atomicpoet According to the dev, this feature has been suspended because of issues with it. It looks like they're getting a bit ahead of themselves in what the feature set they're claiming. It also looks like either way, this feature has literally just been implemented - in which case it's not really reasonable to expect people to know about it.
I looked again on that website for some documentation on any of this, and the only documentation that is there is on migrating servers from Misskey.

@tokyo_0 Calckey supports comment threading. Mastodon doesn't. If you want to use comment threading with Mastodon, you have to use either an alternative web front end like @phanpy or a mobile client like @trunksapp.
As for what it does that Mastodon doesn't... a lot!
Quoted posts, groups, galleries, antennaes, clips -- those are just top of mind.
Also, Calckey has content migration. You can indeed import your Mastodon posts.

@atomicpoet So I can move my Calckey posts from one Calckey instance to another? (I was told fairly recently I couldn't, and that while it was seen as a potential future feature there wasn't a lot of interest in it right now because no one else was doing it - I thought you were copied on that conversation.)
I don't know what you mean by comment threading, either. These comments are being threaded, no?
My point in any case was that what's meant in the chart is unclear.

@atomicpoet @fediversenews I think the chart that claims it has features Mastodon doesn't needs popups or mouseovers to explain exactly what the difference is. What is a "deep thread"? (I haven't encountered any issues on Mastodon with threading.) Why is the "migration" circle twice as pronounced as the Mastodon one? What exactly does it do that Mastodon doesn't? Seems kind of disingenous right now, which is a shame as I like the look of Calckey and if it had content migration I'd be using it.

#SpaceHost will have fully-managed hosting for #Calckey out of the gate.
And https://calckey.social is the flagship server for #Calckey -- though it is not the default.
I do not want there to be a default server for Calckey.

it's fantastic. a great alternative to Mastodon. needs a better name, a dedicated app and somewhere that will help us host instances as nice as @mastohost is. they should also push a default server like Mastodon is now doing.

@atomicpoet @fediversenews Does Calckey not work with Mastodon clients? I added it to @IceCubesApp and was able to sign in, but I’m getting an error message that it can’t load posts.
