People are getting pretty wound up about the net neutrality court decision today. It really comes down to “telecommunications service" provider vs an "information service” provider.

Congress needs to address this not the FCC and while congress is at it reclassify ISP’s, web hosting providers and social media sites as common carriers.

Easy peezy.

I suspect the key difference is China is considered a national security threat and that has to be taken into consideration otherwise the Supreme Court has ruled that government regulation of First Amendment rights must be “narrowly tailored,” which means that laws must be written precisely to place as few restrictions as possible on First Amendment liberties.

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani is disbarred in Washington, DC, the district’s highest local court said Thursday, a move stemming from the ethics proceedings Giuliani faced in New York because of his efforts to overturn the 2020 election.

Those New York proceedings led to Giuliani losing his license to practice there this summer, and because the DC Bar has a reciprocal relationship with the New York Bar, he is now being disbarred in the district.

A Kentucky sheriff has been arrested Thursday in connection with the fatal shooting of a district judge inside a courthouse, Kentucky State Police said.

District Judge Kevin Mullins, 54, was found with multiple gunshots and he was pronounced dead at the scene, state police said.

A preliminary investigation found Letcher County Sheriff Shawn M. Stines shot Mullins after an argument inside the courthouse, according to state police.
