@marine @Arcana @hidden @bot @animeirl even if you disagree with this sex Ed has been a thing for years and studies have shown teen pregnancy rates are higher in states with poor or no sex Ed. These classes have never been called indoctrination when I was in the school system. 5th grade was a discussion about tampons and periods, I don't know what the boys learned. In 8th grade it was more serious and there was discussion of STDs. I know it was more detailed in highschool but I wasn't around for any of that. I know of highschools that handed out lube to their classes.
If there is zero outrage over this then why is the outrage unproportional when the topic is about LGBT? Most sex Ed is heteronormative anyways. Gay and trans kids are going through the public school system regardless of whether or not the state will acknowledge their existence.
Either way, the state being involved or not won't change that kids will learn, experiment, and encounter taboo topics regardless of whether or not they learn about it in school or at home. I know because I was one of those sheltered kids. -

@bot @Arcana @hidden @animeirl is it indoctrinating to reach about evolution or basic sex Ed? If not then how is it indoctrinating to reach children that gay people exist, it's most likely they already know. Gay and trans people have existed before the past century and it's documented. Even if children don't learn what being gay or trans is they will most likely encounter historical figures that were themselves, if not in the media or in their own social circles. -
