@ElsaPreme @ryanc @WastelandWandrr The Hitchhikers quote is *never* to be explained. You know it, or you don’t.

@thomasfuchs This looks like the ChatGPT frontend mixed up users. In other words: just a regular cloud software f-up, kind of the Buttle-Tuttle-situation. Could happen to any service, like a shopping cart. 😁
Anyways, the advice is good, as you never know what happens with your input. Even in completely different, non-AI, cloud apps. In this case, your input is not meant to to be fed into the training data, but if they can mix up shopping carts, they can mix up everything. 😉
@jeremydebose Hm. I admit I find the playlist setup in Overcast a bit confusing; currently trying to live without any playlist. Otherwise, not much clicking for me.
I was thinking about that Journal thing, but I’ve got a lot notes in Day One. Maybe I should try Apples Podcasts again, just to compare its current incarnation with Overcast, and see if Journal adds value here. 😃
(And try Castro again, that one is a pretty nice podcatcher, too.)
@jeremydebose Agreed, #Overcast is great. Which makes me wonder why you want to use Apple Podcasts?
I’m honestly puzzled. 😳
@clacke I feel a bit vindicated in my decision to collect every movie I ever want to see on my own server. With all streaming services increasing prices substantially, and dropping anything interesting.
(Just got an announce from Amazon, they will serve ads in Prime Video now, unless I pony up some bags of gold. This allows them to buy more stuff I don’t want to see, like sports. Eff‘ em.)
Then again: it’s Amazon. What did I expect? A success story like Comixology? 😂🤷♂️😩
@clacke Failed to watch the link. Now I did, and… damn, now I want to watch that King Kong vs Godzilla movie! 😁
Thanks for the link!
@clacke Sounds good, certainly the right direction. But keep in mind that price *always* is part of the equation.
No point in having a perfect service which is too expensive for customers.
Especially important to keep in mind how much of your customers income your service gobbles up. You might think customers don’t do the math, and you may be right, for a while, but you are competing for a share of that income not only with direct competitors, but with things like food and shelter.
@ryanc Teaches me to double-check anything spat out by a AI. Especially what it thinks the question was. 😳
(Good thing is you can easily get the correct number, once you figure out what the heck an oz is.) 😁
@adamconover Nice! But instead of telling people how hard it is to pick an instance, why don’t you tell them how easy it is to pick the „default“ instance? Because it literally is. Scaring potential users makes them stick to Twitter. 😉
So that’s my extend of criticism, because you are right: we need something like Twitter, but not in the hands of deluded rich guys. And, frankly, it’s hard to take something away from anyone (for good reason), so Elmo will probably keep Twitter forever. 🤷♂️
@Gargron I bet it will crave for pizza delivery and social media in a week. Two weeks, tops.
