    I think Biden doesn't last.

    1. Democrats trust congressional leaders in a way that Republicans did/do not trust theirs.
    2. Democrats trust NYT/WaPo/Network TV in a way that Republicans did/do not. (Caveat, opinion on MSNBC is actually not united)
    3. Management of the aftermath has been bad, including with outreach to congressional members.
    4. Biden trusts Obama/Pelosi/Klain in a way that Trump never did w/ Priebus et al.
    5. The rules are clear that he CAN be pushed out at the DNC.

@jef I think this Time piece gets it much better

    https://time.com/6995467/joe-biden-kamala-harris-democratic-party-presidential-nominee/

If Kamala can make the case for herself in multiple debates, get the endorsements and win at the DNC, then it will probably make her a better, not a worse, candidate.

@GreenFire @HistoPol @GottaLaff Americans do care about abortion, but most registered voters do not care about the war in Ukraine. I'm not making the argument that that's right, just observing it. Issue number 1 is inflation.

It's a Maslow's hierarchy thing... you're not going to pay attention to someone else struggling, when you yourself are pissed off about current high interest rates on home mortgages.

@inthehands @JEkis I do believe the editorial board is 15 of the opinion writers. I wouldn't be surprised if some of them are shareholders of NYT, but I really don't think they're trying to engineer a Trump win to increase the NYT's valuation. Meanwhile, the owner can't just shit all over institutional norms without that itself becoming widespread knowledge. If some chicanery happened, where the owner tried to force a change in how editorials are written, we'd know.

@jcrabapple @Gargron @micahflee If it's decentralized, then it can't work exactly like Twitter by definition.
