@thomasfuchs imagine if it were a 2012 mac mini? I did some bad partitioning and had to restore from the rescue. It was not pretty (I really need to write up how I got thru that)
@thomasfuchs this is the most frustrating thing. Spacex has changed an industry and thereโs cool science. Govt funded development. Really, same thibg for Tesla. If it wasnโt for e and *handwave* the rest, itโd all be incredible
@thomasfuchs by this I assume you mean a USB switch, but with maybe keyboard awareness to have a hotkey/combo to trigger the switch? (USB switches, even usb 3.2, are plentiful and cheap)
@thomasfuchs sadly, I can 100% see the code. a default (old) rails or other ORM+view framework pointed at a table will happily serialize everything. and usually that'd have those things in plaintext. Rails has since improved that with some heuristics.
@sindarina hmmm. Maybe Iโll poke around. GitHub would lose real-time updates on PRs and such. Miro just plain stopped working. But I did have an ad blocker running so Iโll check that.
@thomasfuchs the 99/4A was my first computer. I was very young and had no idea how to actually use it really. Had a couple cartridge games and I think a word processor. Tempted to find one.
@thomasfuchs all the most 'successful' code uses I've seen are as easily solved with the right abstraction library to eliminate boilerplate, or copypasting examples from the source or other users. Because that's exactly what the LLM is doing. I'll give it the benefit that it might be able to fit more folks learning/discovery models, and maybe compose answers a tad easier. EG: asking it to write regex, awk, or jq? its fine. not great, but has unstuck me.
@thomasfuchs the most frustrating thing is these threads, by who I thought were otherwise reputable accounts, doing things like 'asking chatgpt about itself' like parameters, configuration, etc. I guess some of this comes from the ability to 'jailbreak' the tokens that make up the 'query' stack, but there is some massive anthropomorphism being assigned that is absolutely ridiculous
@thomasfuchs@amyhoy to share photos Iโd boringly guess. Iโd wish for a chained stereoscopic or triggered mode where you could hook N of them in series and do Matrix like photo setups :)
