@thomasfuchs The thing that bugged me the most reminded me of a quote from David Mamet, that film is superior to video because, after the (increasingly likely) apocalypse, someone could, without electricity, hold up a strip of film and see a story. Everything in that ad, every piano, guitar, toy, book, could last decades or centuries, but now seemingly all replaced by a device obsolete in years.

@thomasfuchs I was gonna go with my favourite German word, verschlimmbesserung, but a better one might be "making things worse in an attempt to make things worse but in a sort of different way…" I'm sure there's a word for that?
