Infinite stars/galaxies in infinite space doesn't necessarily mean light in every direction.
Plus we can only see ~15B years worth of light, area, volume of the universe.
Also light attenuation. Expansion of the universe. Etc.

@thomasfuchs because empty space has nothing to reflect light and there is dark matter and big distance.
