Getting some real 'the burning of the library of Alexandria' vibes right now

Every new year I have to fight back the urge to read 'Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs' and install Scheme again. I don't know what it is about the dark months that makes me think I'll have the free time for Lisp!

It’s a Griswald type 6 model 699B labeled ERIE. Likely from 1905-1907. Was going to try an electrolysis tank but got too cold and the easy off lye treatment scared me. 50/50 vinegar/water sprayed on and scrubbing with a steel wool soap pad worked great. Then 6 seasoning trips in the oven.

Found a 119 year old cast iron pan by the side of the road last year. Restored it for my for my wife as a Christmas gift. Thought I could keep it a secret but discovered that 6 seasoning round trips in the oven isn’t as stealthy as I hoped for! #castiron

Too soon Star Market, too soon! (we have a tradition of buying eggnog the first time we see it in the store, this is the first time I’ve seen it in September!) The original tradition was to buy 2 quarts, one to chug on the way home, the other to leisurely sip over the course of a week.
