@dansup @shlee Please, please can you focus your attention on getting the Pixelfed apps up to date and ready for the app stores.

It can’t be good for you to have so many partially finished projects.

@dansup How is the Pixelfed iOS app coming? Apps are the main way that people access services. Perhaps pause on new features for a while?

@dansup @pixelfed I’m just really keen to see the app out of beta. From a users point of view every time it gets close it looks like it’s delayed for something new. ☹️

@pixelfed Thank you, there are genuine concerns about ‘Stories’ a better name needed that doesn’t have an association with stories on other apps.

@dansup another vote for Mlem for Lemmy (TestFlight) nothing for kbin.

@dansup @pixelfed It’s clear a huge amount of work goes into Pixelfed and I don’t like to disagree but here are some things missing from the app:
Stories
Ability to follow hashtags
Action post edits in the app
Notifications
Accessibility
Account management
Full share sheet support (iOS and Android equivalent)

@pixelfed I have concerns about this :

It seems to add centralisation
Block lists have already proven highly problematic due to individual blocking policies and a high number of errors
There seems to be a growing lack of focus at Pixelfed with projects being started but never quite finished (eg the app, which should be the main way to access Pixelfed, is languishing in Beta lacking many facilities and basics)
The name ModDB already exists and is likely to cause confusion

@pixelfed @pixelfed I would suggest caution there’s a difference between correcting mistakes and abuse by registering under one name and then changing to imitate someone else. Very tight controls are needed or it could go as badly as it did on Twitter.

@dansup @homer77 is there a rough timeline for when stories, post edits, following hashtags, notifications will come to the mobile apps?

@rotnicki @pixelfed It’s on TestFlight but hasn’t been updated in months 😞 Hopefully will be out soon as most people access using apps now.

@dansup @pixelfed Be careful not to burnout, try to concentrate on one or two things at a time.

@dansup I agree. The only slight wrinkle is that what breaks the law varies around the world.
I don’t know at what point you would ‘draw the line’ without having different rules for different jurisdictions? A very difficult question but needs addressing. A good example of how it can all go horribly wrong is Odysee.

@millihertz @HeNeArXn he actually said that he didn’t usually reply to them but that he would this time. Seems his point about people not actually taking in what is in the videos was valid.
