   @dansup I know Pawoo does remove CP posts as compelled by law (they are hosted in #Japan 🇯🇵), but their moderation team might be overwhelmed right now.

   I talked to their current owner @Sujiyan last year over Zoom: https://darnell.day/zooming-with-pawoo-net-new-owner-suji-yan

   I know https://Fediverse.Observer & https://Instances.Social still list Pawoo on their stat sites.

   What is needed for large & hyperactive instances is an automated tool that automatically takes CP posts down (I know https://Counter.Social has this tech).

     @dansup I agree. The only slight wrinkle is that what breaks the law varies around the world.
     I don’t know at what point you would ‘draw the line’ without having different rules for different jurisdictions? A very difficult question but needs addressing. A good example of how it can all go horribly wrong is Odysee.

     @darnell @dansup If use auto tool to take CP down it will involve AI and eventually lead to govt censorship, which I’m also very concerned about. So it’s a dilemma with no easy path. Since we took the maintenance I actually believe it’s way better than it was before.

     @darnell @dansup nah Japanese police definitely have way less power than US and they’re quiet polite. Been dealing with them when I was a journalist etc.

     @Sujiyan @dansup Oh really‽ I am not sure about the laws in #Japan 🇯🇵, but I think Japanese police have more power than typical cops in America.

     Would you be able to use the AI from another country to monitor Pawoo‽ Or would that not work for legal/technical/financial reasons‽

     Problem of cleaning is the federated design is not good for massive deletion. Once we do it lot of other instances may crash. For now we’re only hiding these

     @Sujiyan @darnell @dansup Right, yeah, that's what I meant; they're already constantly jumping accounts, so whatever you're doing is working that far. So it's a question of how to prevent the ban evasion.
     I don't know if mastodon supports registration applications (ie. all registrations must be approved by a moderator), if so, may be worth going to that instead of fully open afterward, for a while. Just not good at first because you'd get too many applications.
