The last chance the fossil fuel industry had to forestall climate action was to get the GOP back into the White House because Democrats are going to decarbonize like most people want.

Recently Professor Timothy Snyder presented a new heuristics to put these types of billionaires into perspective that was pretty good imo.

It seems like people are loathe to discuss it, but I think we should treat the possibility that Judge Merchan might sentence Trump to jail or at least home confinement at Trump Tower as a foregone conclusion.

He got convicted of committing fraud to cheat in the 2016 election. He's running again right now and is saying right out in public that "criminals never change".

That makes him a threat to society meriting confinement.

A little discussed aspect of what could happen if too few Americans vote for Democracy this fall is that all of the our agencies and institutions will become Trump branded, like FEMA will become TEMA for Trump's Emergency Management Agency.
