@jaredwhite Growth is essentially a #capitalist term. Capitalism is constantly concerned with growth. I don't really have any vested in the growth of this platform. My interest lies along keeping it from being interfered with by corporations.

Many small instances in the #fediverse make it less easy for #bigmoney to conquer. This is why we must encourage people to want to learn and want to do this. In the #bigpicture, this is a fight for digital freedom.

@liroyleshed Well, to be pedantic, it's more like the #fediverse. #Mastodon is just one platform of the fediverse. The fediverse uses #ActivityPub. That's the entire beauty of the whole realm - it's completely independent. There are no ads and no corporations.

The present experience that I am having with my cell phone provider is a prima facie reason not to trust #corporations to fix shit that they broke. All I wanted to do was change the cc that I had on file. They said it was changed, backpedaled said there was a problem, backpedaled again. If they charge the old card, I'll have a negative balance. They're going to owe me a 35.00 service credit in return for that.

I love all the nostradamous types that predicted that as I get older, I'd become more conservative. Well those mfers never counted on me going from #socialist to #anarchocommunist. It doesn't get any more left than that. 😹

@moderation I stand in good company with Kolectiva. We must make it unequivocal that in no way is #Meta welcome in the #fediverse. Meta needs to keep its fucking claws off of us.

@inthehands I cringe as well but for slightly different reasons. I cringe because it devalues learning for the good that it does us mentally and emotionally. It conditions us to only learn for a monetary reward, much like Pavlov's dogs. It's more conditioning than learning. Learning should be done for the good that it does us, not for some reward at the end of the effort.

@atomicpoet It doesn't necessarily mean that Blue Sky is doomed. It means that Blue Sky is going to have to play fairly or risk defederation. The cool thing about the #fediverse is that it is still decentralized. Corpos don't have any kind of control over it and I'd like to keep it that way.
