I can't tell the difference between that and my Breville, and I'm not sure I could tell the difference with the $109 espresso maker I just bought.

I can tell the difference between an Americano and drip coffee, but that's about my limit.

My media server's storage space is about one square foot.

I don't miss records. I have 3500 songs on my phone, 30k on my media server.

I don't miss VCRs. I have 1900 movies on my media server.

I don't miss cable. (Or streaming.) I have the complete runs of ~30 tv series on my media server.

I don't miss paper books much. 6000 books on the media server, and I have a hard time reading paper anyway. (Blind in one eye ...

Old school crazy was more original than modern crazy. Pre internet unless you worked with crazy professionally, you wouldn't meet that much of it. When it came time you had to roll your own.

Modern crazy is a little smoother. Less of a gap, crazy moment to crazy moment, it's all influenced by other easily accessible crazy. "I've seen *that* crazy before!"

The Nazis are out to destroy modern civilization. They're a death cult staring at the end times, and perfectly comfortable with the idea that they will help bring the end times about.

I think that this is one of the main points of divergence between liberal (or merely sane) people, and the Oligarch/Nazi axis. There's a frequent assumption by liberals that in fact Nazis are merely misled, that they've been fooled by the oligarchs.

And it describes a very small percentage of the right wing in this country. Stupid, deeply stupid, but not evil. #notall as needed.

But it's not the mainstream. The oligarchs have written off the lives of 7/8 or more of the human race. They are perfectly clear that ecological collapse is coming. They merely plan to be the ones left alive, after heat makes the equator and the deserts unlivable, after the ability of the human race to grow enough food for the human race has been knifed.

They see a transition coming, where AI and robots can replace the need for any humans who are not actively serving their immediate interests.

The carrying capacity of the planet right now is capable of handling 8 billion people. But in 50 years? Probably not. (I'm not making specific numerical predictions here. But it will be much lower than it is today, very likely.)

The Nazis, the oligarch foot soldiers, aren't merely indifferent to your lives. They want to murder. They want you dead.
