   @fatsam @quixoticgeek @itnomad I think I'd pass. Without nukes, we have options (granted, mainly because we have allies with nukes). With nukes, we run the risk of enabling our own fascists here in Poland. They won't nuke Washington or Moscow, but they might try it with Vilnius, Kyiv, or Berlin.

   Large amounts of non-US-sourced conventional arms, on the other hand...

     @quixoticgeek @itnomad if I were responsible for any European state, I'd be building nukes. I'm an American, and nothing but the threat of death has ever slowed our fascists down.

     Ah, the joys of fediverse. Waking to find someone accusing me of being a class traitor for suggesting that Europe might need to build its' own weapons to defend itself.

     So to remind you all.

     There is no such thing as neutral. To be neutral in the face of conflict, is to side with the more powerful party. It is truly that simple.
