eg. back in last february Beijing's CDC got a lot of backlash and anger just for saying something like "please test for covid if your kids have symptoms and do not come to school if positive", so they stopped mentioning covid at all for the next term in fall.

why it's GNU/Linux rather than *BSD or non-GNU Linuxes which dominates almost every tech companies, even if the BSD License is more permissive and supposed to be more "business friendly"?

Alpine might exist in some of containers but that's it. For BSD if macOS counts then yeah, everyone uses macOS for workstations.

I'm implementing javascript scripting support with MuJS but I had to dig into source code of MuJS to figure out how I can do things correctly (because documentation is... not so good). Otherwise it works perfectly.

Not sure if I should use QuickJS or just google's v8 instead, though

@thomasfuchs I still keep wearing N95 everywhere (see my avatar) but I doubt if it's really useful if very few people do so

@jxself too bad all of my neighbors/coworkers/friends use proprietary software and using free software is basically 'disconnecting' from them.

just imagine someone asks me for help when her windows laptop goes wrong and I don't even have a windows machine to check it out, or use that fscking windows/macOS-only proprietary sh*t which she uses for remote assistance, etc.
