This is an NEC MultiSpin, in a very heavy case. It requires CD caddies and still works!

December 17! It's a Mavica!

Here is a later model that was lightly used back in the day. This platform-agnostic camera was revolutionary for its compatibility and ease of use. The optics weren't bad either! 📸

These are also very reasonably priced, and new batteries are affordable and available. Highly recommend!

December 15! Time to burn some CDs.

One of the most revolutionary products in my teenage life. Unlimited backup! Music for the car! Mixes for friends!

I had a similar drive (still somewhere in the collection) hooked up to the Performa 6400 Video Editing Edition, and the CDs on top of the drive contain a video project we created as an 8th grade class. Also just installed OS9 on a Lombard from a CD burned in this era. 4x or bust!

An eBay gamble arrived today, 3 rough PowerBooks 520 and a PowerBook 145. Figured I'd just end up harvesting some bits...but all of them "work"!! 🧵

The second one also worked, although the right hinge was completely frozen up, and it came broken apart. The display cable was fine and the left hinge is doing double duty. This was a student's seminary computer.

The first one I opened works a-ok with an external screen. 20MB and its original HD works. Looks like someone's college computer, and had a website in cache from 1999-2000!

Quick detour: the search function works well but our fun ended quickly

The third one kind of looks like a IIc, right? Anyways it's full of caked nasty battery dust, but it only seemed to affect the plastic. 20MB, no HD.

@thomasfuchs right? Almost all computers don't fit it properly though...our first computer, an LCII, was on one of these and it was always awkward.

Not a lot of Mac stuff lately because we have ripped our kitchen apart to (among other things) put in a dog door 😁
