@thomasfuchs What are you using to take a night shot like that? Also, how secluded was the spot where you took it? It's pretty damn cool.

@fesshole Perhaps if he did his wife more, she wouldn't want to poison him.
Or perhaps that would make her want to poison him more. Who can say.

@thomasfuchs It's getting harder and harder to find a decent browser nowadays. I just started using Vivaldi, so I really hope it doesn't turn out to be made by Nazis.

@Gargron I had to look that up and now sort of regret doing so.

@thomasfuchs This, again, sounds like the usual mental and verbal gymnastics slop merchants use. To say code is not content just sounds ridiculous. What exactly do they think "content" means? Also, it strongly suggests they believe that actual talented coders and what they do aren't of value. It's insulting, really. No idea who this person is, but I don't like them.

@gamingonlinux Goddammit. I despise AI, but now you've gone and found that one use case that makes sense to me. This is how the machines win.

@thomasfuchs my wife, who has certification in teaching the blind and vision-impaired, pointed out that since you can't turn it off, it's an accessibility nightmare for anyone with vision issues. It seems like such a bonkers move that is still just so very Apple.

@thomasfuchs I'm not an Apple user at all, but people in my household are, and I've yet to hear anyone (both at home and in general) who doesn't absolutely hate it.

@thomasfuchs Except, sadly, the Amiga.

@thomasfuchs I see the words of this headline and understand the words individually, but I'm not quite sure my brain is able to wrangle meaning out of the whole sentence. Does this mean he literally sticks his fingers in other people's noses? Because I was clearly taught in kindergarten you can pick your friends and pick your nose, but you can't pick your friend's nose.

@dansup I'm not a coder, though I write SQL scripts for work, but what you're describing in regards to AI isn't learning or "being a coder". Taking bits and pieces from elsewhere to form your website is hugely different from telling some LLM thing to do all the work for you with no understanding whatsoever of how it actually works. At least cutting and pasting code requires you to figure out how it goes together and you learn iteratively. Using AI is the opposite of learning.

@gamingonlinux The 3DO version still ranks in my mind as one of the greatest games ever.

@killyourfm I wasn't either, but I've been playing it a ton on Switch 2 as well. It didn't grab me back when I picked it up cheap on Xbox, but now it's really impressing me for how packed and detailed a game it is.

@killyourfm It's the one game I picked up today besides the Mario Kart pack in. It just seemed like a solid choice for a portable RPG.
