@thomasfuchs @geekgyrl @HunterZ I think they have their place, but I'd want any shared Blocklist to ask me which blocks I'd like to import. I'd also like it to have a shared unblock feature, if someone meets whatever criteria are set for delisting. After that it's all social problems related to trust and preventing abuse.
At the moment I'm loving the open domain blocklists for keeping the fash out. It's nice how they congregate around a few nasty instances like they do.

And the award for the most unfortunate "we picked four random letters" Amazon item brand name goes to ....

@kichae @atomicpoet Ahh, that's what I meant with using design patterns (light patterns) to encourage people to read the whole thread.
Whether that's a "this is a reply" or "this is a thread" icon or a popup - it's something I've done without noticing in the past, so very much needed

@atomicpoet I'm not certain they would anyway -- isn't this particular brand of trolling called "sealioning"? As in they keep going "explain! explain!" until the other party wears out?

Anyway I'm not sure this has to do with "federating better" as much as pushing user behaviour towards "using design patterns to encourage people to read the whole thread first".

@purple @Seg I'm inclined to agree with you. That's why I'm running 98SE on my Libretto - not just the USB support, but also FAT32 and the dramatic reduction in headaches. It still bluescreens on occasion but hey, it's 9x, last of the 3.x kernel line... They all do that...

@Seg I think that's the issue you need the K6 patch to fix. CPU too fast = Windows Protection Error.

@thomasfuchs Or it sends a message that their friends and family are done with them and it's time to go all in on the cult. Which sucks because I'm not sure what a better solution would be, their family shouldn't have to deal with their bullshit.
