@nek
Lol. Welcome to "my" world
I have the same 3 clients installed.
I had to give up on #Fedilab, b/c for years, I would get the same error message: that the current Samsung OS version of Android wasn't supported yet...before it crashed almost any time I tried publishing an a post.
I now have another brand and another OS. Might give it another try.
What is "really" lacking is a #Mastodon 4 #Android that automatically creates threads out of one initial input mask, incl. page#+breaks + headlines. -

Has the notification issue in the #Fedilab App been fixed?
Seems I am on Fedilab version 3.28.2 (dated from either 21.03.2024 or 17.06.2024, Google Play Store UI shows two different dates). Is that the latest?
Fedilab notifications stopped popping up some time last summer, afair.

@BeAware @treefit Yes, that's easy to understand, thanks for the explanation.
Basically this means, I/my instance only sees comments in a thread, from people that are "known" to my instance (because someone on my instance is following them) or they have an account on my instance. Otherwise I have to take a look at the original post on the original instance.
Right?
PS: I suppose some apps (maybe #Fedilab) initially pull all comments together from all instances. But I'm not 100% sure.

🌹 Mais um teste de imagem no #snac, agora publicada com o #Fedilab. É um arquivo JPEG sem qualquer manipulação, para conferir se há algum tipo de tratamento de metadados pelo servidor. -

@foxy
There are several ways to filter your home timeline. First you can long press the home tab and some filters will be displayed. It is an easy way to hide replies or boosts for example.
Also, from a user profile, you can mute an account only for the home timeline (three dots at the top right).
As it was mandatory to follow an account to add it in a list, #Fedilab also allows to bulk mute from home all users in a list (Main menu > Lists > three dots). These are Fedilab features only.

Did you know that #Fedilab allows to truncate messages with an amount of lines?
We didn't make the choice of chars but lines as it is possible to have long messages with few chars. For that settings:
Timelines>Truncate long messages.
Just pick up the max lines you want.By default, this option is turned off.

Did you know that #Fedilab has a dedicated layout for #Peertube?
You can easily discover what is Peertube with your Mastodon account. For that, the app has a dedicated entry in the main menu. You can watch videos on instances and also comment, fav with your Mastodon account.
Please check media descriptions for details. -

I am in a turn of the #Fedilab development where I am wondering if I should not rewrite it (for the second time). But this time in a language that will allow to open it to iOS users.

When visiting a user profile, you will see only messages that are known by your instance.
This can be frustrating especially for small instances.
#Fedilab offers an option at the bottom right, through a magnifying glass button (see the screenshot). By clicking on it, you will be able to see all messages. The app will manage everything for you in background to interact with that messages. You can of course set that behavior as the default one in Settings > Interface.

It happens that no media are displayed on your instance.
Most of the time, it happens for instances using a dedicated server/domain for media that is running an outdated certificate.
During the fix of your admins, you can allow #Fedilab to load media remotely in Settings>Timelines -

Hello from my brand new #Snac instance running as a #FastCGI on a cheap shared hosting.. without FastCGI support!
Turns out all you need is good old cgi-fcgi and a starter script. I'll send you a PR with a proper example as soon as possible.
I think this shows how Snac is the cheapest and easiest to install #fediverse server, lowering the bar to self-hosting #privacy friendly instances for schools, group of friends or families.
And using it from #fedilab is just as easy as any other instance.
Thanks for the great work @grunfink@comam.es! -

When opening a thread with #Fedilab, there is a kind of target icon at the top right.
It is only displayed when the first message of the thread comes from another instance.
Your instance might not be aware of all replies in this thread. So by tapping on that icon, all replies will be displayed. You will be able to interact with all messages even if they are unknown by your instance (the app will manage that for you in background). You can define in settings as a default behavior (Interface).
