@FourOh-LLC Sure, but the point is that you shouldn't feel terribly constrained on which services you use. You should feel comfortable using whichever ones are convenient. Even commercial services like Twitter are fine to me. They just need to be convenient enough, and with few enough drawbacks, to merit using.
For a chat service, I have a Matrix hub that has bridges to both Telegram and Discord, you know, commercial services. So if a user posts in any of these services they end up posting in all of them. Bridging is superior to mere federation in some ways because it brings the federation to them, across platforms and protocols that might even object to such interoperability, and for those that do, it's just tough shit
