It's spread primarily in ways similar to respiratory viruses, but continual attempts to characterize it as a "seasonal respiratory virus" and reduce it in the public's mind to something like a cold virus or the flu are ascientific and politically motivated and the media largely continues to parrot these talking points back to the public.
