It's spread primarily in ways similar to respiratory viruses, but continual attempts to characterize it as a "seasonal respiratory virus" and reduce it in the public's mind to something like a cold virus or the flu are ascientific and politically motivated and the media largely continues to parrot these talking points back to the public.
Covid is a multi-organ, multi-tissue disease that can and does mess you up for life and even sub-acute infection probably has lasting affects on your body which raises your risk factors for a host of other secondarily logged medical issues.
Vascular issues (stroke, circulation issues, changes in vein tissue, etc.) have long been noted as a major feature of this disease.
@Brad@trendless Scientists are cautious by nature and not likely to make predictions rather than pronouncements based on data. As a result, much of this stuff is only coming out now, because MOST of us lack the training to interpret the facts correctly. Back in 2020, they told us this was a virus that attacks the lining of blood vessels. But they didn't know most of the details until various studies had concluded, yielding data.
I have very good friends who are doctors and epidemiologists. Many have spoken out publicly and have FOR YEARS, but the press and the politicians were not interested.
The whole idea that this was scientists just sitting back and being careful is *nonsense*.
There was solid, reproduceable science showing COVID was largely vascular YEARS ago.
