I've been with my wife roughly 25 years. You should marry them and raise your children. But not because of some rule or even prohibition on divorce etc. That's just what you do. It's the role, not the rule.

The Spanish side of my family (who I was raised around) marries once and gets burried with their spouse. My anglo side... I can't say the same.
