A good example of one of the many ways you can end up shit creek without a paddle as a merc was demonstrated in Syria when some Wagner guys were helping assault a position held by US special forces and then got blown the fuck up by air strikes after America called Russia asking "None of these guys we're about to vaporize are yours, right?" and Russia was like "Uhhhh no no not at all haha of course not!".
