it also does not distinguish between porn and csam, btw. i saw one such thing on my fb reel feed. i reported it. i guess reporting counts as interacting, because soon my entire fb feed was indo/viat/that/indian porn & csam. kept reporting, it kept showing me more. i had to just stop visiting fb for a few months for it to sort of reset. now it shows me tech reels and viet/thai porn.

btw, while on this topic... this experience showed me that fb's algorithm is able to reliable identify csam and serve it to users it believes are interested due to engagement. i don't know how it does it, since there usually wasn't any text or consisten anything except video content, but it does it.

which means they have the means to properly purge all csam from their site. instead, though, they serve it to people on a platter.
