Sure, "needs to survive". If/when shit hits the fan right. I still wouldn't eat our pets personally, but the domestic cats in particular might not stand much chance in the wild without us. I'd still give them that chance to survive out of love though, I'd rather not become something that kills and eats the things I love. That's a fate worse than death imo, as you lose the concept of love itself.

Ok you personally prefer your dogs/cats over rodents, so you'd eat them last if necessary to survive? Or is more based on how practical killing it for meat is? I'm assuming the first as dogs are far more meaty than cats and you grouped them together.
